Internap Plans Green Boston Facility
May 14, 2008 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Internet business solutions provider Internap Network Services (internap.com) announced on Friday it plans to add around 15,000 square feet of colocation at a new stand-alone 45,000 square foot facility adjacent to its existing Boston data center.
This week has seen more than the usual number of new data center announcements. On Thursday alone, Technical Real Estate announced it has started construction on a new 32,000 square foot facility in Sydney, Australia while Commtouch launched a new data center in Hong Kong.
According to the press release, the expansion will help Internap meet strong demand for its bundled Internet solutions. The first phase of is expected to be complete in the fourth quarter of this year.
